What Are Windorphins?

I’ve been asking myself this question for the past few months.

It started when I saw an advertisement on the subway. It was plastered all over the car, little blobs of red, green, blue and green with one eye or two and weirdly happy expressions on their faces. I always said to myself, I will look it up when I get home, just go to http://www.windorphins.com. I never did look it up because by time I got home there were more important things to do.

Well a few weeks ago I finally made it to the site and after clicking around I was still like “What the hell are those things?” But today, the veil was removed from my eyes and I figured out what they are.

Windorphins are by-products of eBay. In other words, they are the emotional effect of an individual winning an eBay bid–hence the “win” in endorphins. But somehow this isn’t convincing enough for me…

I’m not quite sure why the little globule people exist and what the significance of creating one is, but there it is folks. This still may not clear things up for you–because I am still confused–but I thought I’d attempt to shine some light on the subject.

Here is another bloggers thoughts on Windorpins–it was almost as if she took the words out of my mouth, this is why I love New York.

  1. yeah, after .02 seconds of thought, i dismissed windorphins as silliness.

i miss those school of visual arts ‘lame excuses for not going to school to improve your craft’ ads:

“i had a couple of agencies liking my portfolio, but i couldnt NOT take the offer from Jamba Juice.”

or whatever those things said. some of the excuses were funny.
